The autonomous community of Extremadura has registered 231 confirmed positive cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, thus continuing with the decline in recent days, while hospitalized patients increased to 332, although the upward trend in ICUs by registering three fewer patients, with a total of 57.
In the last 24 hours, six people have died with Covid-19, which brings the total number to 855 since the beginning of the pandemic, a period in which 18,000 epidemiological discharges have been exceeded, after the 451 that have occurred in the last day.
The deceased are a 95-year-old woman from Zafra, a 61-year-old man from Torre de Don Miguel, another 71-year-old from Hervás, an 88-year-old man from Cerezo, another 49-year-old from Magacela and a 75-year-old man from Cáceres.
Likewise, three new outbreaks were declared, two of them in Badajoz with 4 positives and 8 contacts and 6 positives and 10 contacts, respectively, and one in Vegaviana with 22 positives and contacts under study. Likewise, 270 de Hornachos is closed.
The Badajoz Health Area reports 88 confirmed cases and has 91 hospitalized patients, 21 of them in the ICU. He has had 92 deaths and 4,380 discharges; Cáceres has reported 28 positive cases and has 62 admitted patients, of which 7 are in the ICU. It accumulates 331 deaths and has given 3,407 discharges.
In turn, the Mérida Health Area registers 36 confirmed cases and has 64 hospitalized people, of which 13 are in the ICU. There are 89 deaths and 2,485 discharges; while Don Benito-Villanueva de la Serena reports 13 positive cases and there are 41 hospitalized patients, of which 7 are in the ICU. Accumulated 84 fatalities and 2,618 cured patients.
For its part, the Plasencia Health Area registers seven positive cases and counts 37 hospitalized patients, of which 9 are in the ICU. It has registered a total of 107 deaths and has given 1,560 discharges; while in the Navalmoral de la Mata area it has reported 8 confirmed cases and has eight patients admitted and has registered 66 deaths. It has given 1,260 discharges.
Finally, the Llerena-Zafra area registers 44 positive cases and has 24 admitted patients. It has registered a total of 51 deaths and has given 1,487 discharges; and Coria reports seven positive cases and has 5 hospitalized patients. A total of 35 people have died and 816 have been discharged.
