Martin Freeman appears to have found love again after being spotted walking hand-in-hand with a mystery woman.
The Hobbit actor took a break from lockdown to grab some fresh air near his home in north west London on Saturday afternoon.
It seemed Martin and his companion were in need of a pick-me-up as they each carried coffee cups from Paul in one hand and held onto each other’s other hand while engrossed in conversation.
Their wardrobes almost matched with Martin dressed casually in a pair of jogging bottoms, long black coat, baseball cap and trainers, while his girlfriend donned a pastel blue beret with a black coat, jumper, jeans and pair of boots.
It’s not known how long they’ve been dating but the pair were first spotted together in June.
They were also in particularly high spirits as they stepped out on Friday and were spotted laughing with each other as Martin wrapped his arms around his partner’s shoulders. At one point, she clung onto his arm while in fits of laughter.
Martin was last known to have dated actress Amanda Abbington who he was with for 16 years. The couple, who split in 2016 and starred together in Sherlock, share two children, Joe, 14, and Grace, 12.
Opening up about their devastating split, Martin, 49, said in 2019: ‘I always knew that people who split up can be civil and do it for the kids, it’s all right.
‘I didn’t only want to be civil for the children, I wanted to be civil for us, because when you’ve loved someone for that long and they have been such an integral part of your life, what — that is supposed to not count now?’
Amanda also revealed the reason for their split in an interview with The Telegraph, previously saying: ‘When we broke up nobody knew, we didn’t tell anybody except for a few key people because they had to know, because of the logistics of hotels and stuff.
‘We still get on really well, we still really both admire each other as actors… he’s a great guy, but we just couldn’t live with each other any more.’
Martin also spoke highly of his ex when confirming the break-up to Radio Times, explaining: ‘We split up a while ago. I mean, we’re very friendly and it’s all lovely and cool. Yes, we’ve not been together for a while. I mean, we did the series not together.
‘I’m all right, yes. I mean, we’re honest to God doing it [separating] in about as civilised a manner as I’ve ever heard of, you know.
‘I love Amanda’s work. I think she’s brilliant as an actor and she’s brilliant as a woman and, yes, I love her. I will always love Amanda, but, yes, we’re… you know, that’s what’s happened.’
