Stranger Things: There is Lot More Stored from the Upside-down World along with a Startling Return of Jim Hopper

After production shut down in early 2020, it looks like things are back in track

Stranger Things is arguably one of the best Netflix originals till now, and hence needs no further introduction. The first season premiered in July 2016 and has been going strong ever since. Fans are now waiting for the fourth season to release.

So here’s all the updates till now.

Filming and release

Currently, season 4’s production is ongoing and their new filming location will be at New Mexico, starting from December 2020. We got confirmation that the script was finished by mid-June 2020.

Filming was originally set to begin on January 7th, 2020 and was to conclude by August 5th, 2020, but that came to a halt due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in March 2020. If sources are to be believed, they had already completed two episodes when production was stopped. On July 2nd, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that they will be resuming production on September 17, but that got delayed to September 28.

We even got some photos of the cast and set, and a lot of filming was done at the arcade that Steve (Joe Keery) and Robin (Maya Hawke) are working at.

During a Twitch stream on October 31st, Gaten Matarazzo confirmed that they have started filming for the eight and final episode of the season. So it’s understandable that the final episode will have New Mexico in it.

The one good thing that came out of this pandemic, as per Shawn Levy, was that the Duffer brothers, who are the creative geniuses behind the show, got to write the entire season before filming began and had time to rewrite certain parts and hence the quality of the screenplays are exceptional, and maybe even better than before.

Season 4 of Stranger Things is expected to come out sometime in 2021 as the proper date hasn’t been revealed yet.
