New allegations of sexual assault made against actor Robert Knepper (Prison Break / iZombie) could well complicate the broadcast of the next season of iZombie on CW.
A few weeks ago, The Hollywood Reporter magazine published an article in which stylist Susan Bertram accused actor Robert Knepper of sexual assault. The magazine has since reported similar accusations from four other women..
Robin Saex Garbose, who was working in 1983 on the casting of June Moon’s production, accused the actor of having kissed her by force. Another woman, on condition of anonymity, reports that she was forcibly kissed by Robert Knepper, but also that she was touched vigorously and inappropriately in 1989. Emma Julia Jacobs, a make-up stylist, accuses her. to her of sexual assault while filming Planet of The Apes in 2010. Finally, Christy Oldham, director and screenwriter, also incriminates the actor of sexual assault in 2013.
These new accusations could well become a headache for the CW channel which is due to broadcast the new season of iZombie in early 2018, in which Robert Knepper plays.
On Monday, the actor released a statement in which he said:
« We have come to a point where hard-earned careers are being lost on the basis of accusations. I reiterate that these accusations are false. We have lost the presumption of innocence; we have lost due process, and we have lost the ability to examine evidence – allowing the media to become ‘judge and jury’. Until I can sit down and have a dialogue with my accusers, and not with the press but with an impartial mediator, I have nothing more to say. My wife, family and close friends know me, and know my true nature. I am grateful for their love and support. ».
