As full-time travellers, we are always on the lookout for great, durable travel clothes that are versatile enough to wear in numerous different scenarios. And because we live out of our travel backpacks and therefore pack light, we need to have as few items of clothing as possible. Unfortunately, not many clothing brands fit the criteria needed for our travel lifestyle and it can be hard to find classic and stylish clothes that can easily transition from one scenario to another. One clothing brand we’ve found who can, however, is Bluffworks and this Bluffworks review will outline a number of the brand’s top clothing items.

While Bluffworks has been around since 2012, the brand has only recently introduced a women’s line — making it ideal for both sexes. For both men and women, Bluffworks provides well-made and versatile clothes that will help you to look effortlessly stylish on the road without overpacking.

If you’re interested in learning more about Bluffworks and how this clothing brand will change the way you pack and travel, then this Bluffworks review is for you. Having tried out both the men’s and women’s lines, we know a thing or two about the quality and wearability of Bluffworks clothes and believe that they are a staple for any traveller looking for a smart and versatile wardrobe while on the road.

Bluffworks Review: Men’s Line

Bluffworks started with only a men’s line and their smart and stylish clothes are perfect for the professional traveller along with a basic traveller who just wants to look good and put-together without having to deal with traditional, day-to-day clothing. The men’s Bluffworks line is extensive, however, the following items are the ones that Michael has tried and worn himself. Click here to view other items in the Bluffworks men’s line!

Ascender Chinos Review

If you’re looking for a smart and practical chino, then the Ascender Chinos are a great option. They come in a number of different colours and have a number of great features that set them a step above any other chinos on the market. Have a look at this Bluffworks chinos review to learn more about them.

The Bluffworks Ascender Chinos are more than just a regular chino and they have numerous features that make them perfect for travellers. For one, their polyester material prevents them from wrinkling, so you don’t need to worry about ironing or being forced to wear crumpled trousers while on the road.

They are also fully machine washable and you can even tumble dry them on a low setting. Their slightly stretchy material makes them comfortable while still looking sharp, as well.

The most impressive thing about the Ascender Chinos, however, would have to be the sheer amount of pockets Bluffworks has managed to fit into them — a whopping 10! There are standard pockets, secure zippered pockets, two phone pockets, and even a small pocket ideal for a multitool like a Leatherman or Swiss Army knife.

The Ascender Chinos come in two different fits — regular and tailored. The regular fit is a bit more relaxed and leads to trousers that aren’t so tight against the skin. The tailored fit is perfect for those looking for, quite obviously, a more tailored look.

Michael, at about 6 feet tall (183 cm), finds that a size 32×32 in the regular fit to be ideal for him and they fit well and are comfortable.

All in all, the Ascender Chinos are a great travel pant as they can be dressed up or down depending on the situation, are wrinkle-free, and comfortable enough to wear on long plane, train or bus rides or traipsing through the city. Click here to learn more about the Ascender Chinos!

Gramercy Pants Review

If you need some professional garb on your travels but find traditional suit pants to be uncomfortable and stuffy, then Bluffworks Gramercy pants are a great option for you.

Much like the chinos mentioned above, the Gramercy Pants are a cut above traditional suit pants. They are 100% polyester and are equipped with a total of 8 pockets, including 3 hidden zipper pockets. Like the chinos, they are wrinkle-resistant and also have a moisture-wicking technology that is also quick-drying.

They are also fully machine washable, which means that you don’t need to worry about dry cleaning while on a business trip. Also, their lightweight properties mean that they won’t make your travel bag needlessly heavy.

Like the chinos, the Gramercy Pants come in both a regular and tailored fit. Michael owns the tailored fit in these pants and finds them slightly more tight than he would appreciate in his size, however, it has a lot to do with personal preference.

All in all, the Gramercy Pants are an excellent addition to a travel wardrobe if you travel a lot for work and need to be wearing a suit. They probably aren’t necessary if you are just a typical traveller, as they are quite formal, however, they are great for business or formal events. Meridian Dress Shirt Review

The Meridian Dress Shirt is one of the best button-down shirts to include in your travel wardrobe. Like the chinos, this can be dressed up or down depending on the situation and has many other features that are sure to appeal.

The Meridian Dress Shirt comes in a few different colours and, like the rest of the Bluffworks men’s line, is wrinkle-resistant — perfect for saving time and looking smart! Made of 98% polyester and 2% spandex, it is lightweight and breathable and also moisture-wicking and anti-microbial, meaning that you will smell fresh and clean even on warm and sweaty days.

Like the rest of the men’s line items mentioned, the Meridian Dress Shirt comes in both a classic fit and a slim fit. The classic fit (Michael’s cut of choice) is slightly looser and more relaxed where the slim fit has a more tailored look. It comes in a number of different sizes for all body types from XS – XXL and both regular and tall options.

All in all, the Meridian Dress Shirt is really the ideal button-down shirt for travel or really any occasion. Its wrinkle-free fabric means that it will always be looking it’s best and you can dress it up or down depending on the situation. Click here to learn more about the Meridian Dress Shirt!

Bluffworks Review: Women’s Line

Bluffworks hasn’t had a women’s line for long but they are always adding new items to it. However, the small line doesn’t sacrifice style or convenience and there are some great pieces in the Bluffworks women’s line that are sure to make you want to make this a part of your travel wardrobe.

Trevi Dress Review

I am always on the lookout for a classic and stylish dress that can easily transition from day to night and I finally found the perfect one in the Trevi Dress. An A-line cut dress, it is flattering and simple, meaning that you can dress it up or down depending on the situation.

What makes this dress amazing, however, is the fact that it has a whopping six pockets! With so much of women’s clothing forgoing pockets altogether, having six discreet pockets within in the dress is really a breath of fresh air. There are also convenient snaps on the shoulders of the dress so you can easily hideaway bra straps.

Personally, I love the Trevi Dress and it’s been exactly what I’ve been looking for for quite some time. It is so versatile that it can look professional or dressy and can easily transition from day to night with minimal effort. Click here to learn more about the Trevi Dress!

Trevi Pants Review

If you’re looking for comfortable and smart-looking pants, then the Trevi Pants are a great option. This Bluffworks pants review will cover how they are great for both business meetings or looking stylish while strolling down a European street.

Made from 98% polyester, 2% spandex, these pants have many of the same features as the other Bluffworks items such as 8 different pockets, moisture-wicking and anti-wrinkle fabric, and a comfortable waste.

There is also an option to snap up the hem on the pants to crop them if you want the legs to be a bit shorter in the warmer seasons. The stretchy fabric makes them comfortable enough to wear on long-haul flights while also looking nice enough to wear to a business meeting or a nice restaurant.

The pants have quite a flattering cut that tends to look good on a majority of body types, meaning that they should be a good option for most women. They come in both standard and petite fit, meaning that they are also accessible and will look good on shorter women. Taller women may find that the pants might be just a bit too short — especially for cooler months.

The Trevi Pants come in sizes 0-16. I found that the size 2 fits me well around the waist where the pants hit, however, it is slightly difficult to get them past my somewhat curvy hips.

All in all, the Trevi Pants are an excellent addition to any travel wardrobe and I love how they are comfortable enough to wear on a long-haul flight without sacrificing any style. Click here to learn more about the Trevi Pants!

Azores Blouse Review

Everyone needs a versatile, button-down blouse and the Bluffworks Azores Blouse is a fantastic option for any travel wardrobe.

Like the rest of the Bluffworks women’s line, this blouse can be dressed up or down easily and is equipped with the same wrinkle-free, antimicrobial technology that will keep any odours at bay. The blouse comes in three colours, is lightweight, and has elastic cuffs that make the sleeve length easily adjustable.

One of the best features of this blouse, however, would have to be the snap situated between the third and fourth buttons from the top that eliminates any chest gaping — particularly great for women with a larger cup size. The buttons are also covered with a front placket, giving the blouse a nice, sleek look.

The Azores Blouse comes in both a standard and petite fit and comes in sizes ranging from XS to XL. The hem is also slightly longer at the back, meaning that you don’t need to worry about it riding up. I have it in a size XS and find that it has a light, flowy look without being either too tight or too loose.

All in all, I really love the Azores Blouse and it can easily be transitioned from day to night depending on what you pair it with. It can just as easily dress up a casual pair of jeans as it can pair with a skirt or trousers for a more formal look. Click here to learn more about the Azores Blouse!

Threshold Women’s T-Shirt Review

The most casual item in the Bluffworks line, the Threshold T-Shirt is also my most-worn item.

On the surface, this just looks like your basic v-neck t-shirt, however, it has quickly become my favourite t-shirt ever. Made from a mixture of polyester, lyocell and elastane, the t-shirt is moisture-wicking, wrinkle-free and anti-odour meaning that you can wear it for hours in the hot sun and still keep dry and smell fresh! It also has UPF 50+ sun protection meaning that it is perfect for summer days.

The Threshold T-Shirt comes in both petite and standard fits and is on the looser end — so don’t go in expecting a skin-tight tee. Sizes range from XS-XL and the back is slightly longer than the front.

There are some reviews that think the tee is too short for taller women, however, I personally — at 5 foot 9 (175 cm) — like the shorter style. It may not be the best if you want to tuck it into pants or a skirt, however, the looser style doesn’t really fit for that look, anyway, in my opinion.

If I were to write a Bluffworks review and only include the Threshold T-Shirt, I would still be completely raving about the company. Though it is on the pricier end for a t-shirt, it is so well-made and comfortable that I believe it will last me for many years to come. Click here to learn more about the Threshold T-Shirt!

Bluffworks Review: Final Thoughts

All in all, I think that Bluffworks clothing may be some of the best for stylish travellers and with their anti-wrinkle, versatile items, I only wish that their line was broader!

And though the company is based in the USA, they do ship internationally and also have a great return and exchange policy.

Hopefully, this Bluffworks review has convinced you that this stylish and well-made clothing brand is one of the best on the market for world travellers. If you want to look professional and smart while on the road, seriously consider adding some Bluffworks items to your wardrobe — you won’t be sorry!
