Amazon has announced the season two cast for its hit show The Wilds; and yes, friends, there were boys on that island, too.
In its first season, The Wilds was a show about a group of young women en route to an empowerment retreat when their plane crashes leaving them stranded on an island. By the time the season wrapped, there had been plenty of plot twists, including the reasons why they were stranded in the first place.
And then, in the final moments of finale, Leah (played by Sarah Pidgeon) learned that the island was not just inhabited by women, there was also a group of young men stranded there too. And that is where we find ourselves for Season 2, meeting the young men from the Twilight of Adam group, who have also been living under surveillance, under the guise that they’re stranded alone on a deserted island.
The returning cast features Rachel Griffiths, David Sullivan, Troy Winbush, Sophia Ali, Sarah Pidgeon, Jenna Clause, Erana James, Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Reign Edwards and Shannon Berry.
In addition, eight young actors will join the show. Zack Calderon, Aidan Laprete, Nicholas Coombe, Charles Alexander, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Reed Shannon, Tanner Ray Rook and Alex Fitzalan will join as the group from Twilight of Adam. Like their Season 1 counterparts, these young actors hail from both the U.S. and Australia. The arrival of these new castaways was announced via an especially clever “group chat” from Amazon featuring the girls and guys all getting to know each other:
What are their backstories? Will any of them die? Will Season 2’s injection of testosterone lead to a Lord of the Flies situation? We’re dying to know the answers, but we’ll have to wait — there’s no premiere date for the show just yet.
