Roy Cropper (David Neilson) and Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) will wait desperately for news about Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) and Seb (Harry Visinoni) in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.

Tomorrow’s episode of the ITV soap will see Nina and Seb come across Corey’s (Maximus Evans) drunken gang while walking along the canal.

As the couple hurry away, the gang will give chase, leading Nina and Seb to find themselves subject to an unprovoked and vicious attack.

During this horrific moment, Abi and Kevin (Michael Le Vell) are busy enjoying their hen and stag parties, but when the police interrupt with news about the attack, Abi, Kevin and Roy rush to hospital.

In a preview clip, Roy is seen talking to a Nurse (played by Downton Abbey’s Helen Sheals), about Nina’s state. As Abi rushes past to be with Seb, Roy learns that Nina is in surgery having a procedure called a ‘craniotomy.’

We discover Nina sustained several head injuries during the attack and is having this all-important procedure to also reduce the swelling on her brain due to a bleed.

Roy realises the severity of Nina’s condition during this clip, and as he prepares himself to sit by Nina’s bedside for potentially quite some time, the Nurse hands Roy a bag of Nina’s jewellery.

‘Do you mean for me to look after for a short while, or for me to keep?’ Roy says when he’s given Nina’s belongings.

The Nurse fails to answer Roy’s question and walks away, allowing us to learn that no-one really has any idea whether Nina will make it out of surgery, let alone make a full recovery.

If Nina does make it out of surgery alive, what state will she be in?

If she’s sustained multiple head injuries, could she suffer memory loss?
