Um, is 2020 repeating itself? I swear, I thought we were out of the clear with crazy and insane events.
Looks like I was entirely wrong…
So, in case you haven’t heard, China launched a rocket recently but it didn’t go as intended or planned.
China’s Rocket Accidentally Took It’s Base Into Space and Nobody Knows Where It’s Going To Fall On Earth.
Isn’t that just the most terrifying thing you’ve ever heard?!
So, when a rocket is launched into space, it has a piece that intentionally falls back into Earth called the Rocket Stage but that did not fall back like it was supposed to.
It actually picked up speed and ended up going into space with the rest of the rocket and as you may know, what goes up, must come down.
The most terrifying part of it all is that nobody knows where that is going to land.
While analysts predict it will fall in the ocean somewhere, they can’t be for sure until a few hours before reentry into Earth’s atmosphere.
The Chinese Long March 5B rocket is expected to enter Earth’s atmosphere “around May 8,” according to a statement from Defense Department spokesperson Mike Howard, who said the US Space Command is tracking the rocket’s trajectory.
The rocket’s “exact entry point into the Earth’s atmosphere” can’t be pinpointed until within hours of reentry, Mike Howard said.
However, the 18th Space Control Squadron will provide daily updates on the rocket’s location through the Space Track website.
“We expect it to reenter sometime between the eighth and 10th of May. And in that two day period, it goes around the world 30 times. The thing is traveling at like 18,000 miles an hour. And so if you’re an hour out at guessing when it comes down, you’re 18,000 miles out in saying where.”
The rocket’s debris is *supposed* to burn up upon reentry but we aren’t certain about that either.
Best case scenario – it hits somewhere without harming anyone or anything.
Cross our fingers it just burns up and falls into the ocean not harming anyone.
